Our Marketing Team is looking for an experienced and creative Content Manager to cover a 12-month maternity contract here at Oak Furnitureland. The role is based in our Swindon Head Office and we can offer hybrid working with 2 days in the office (Tuesday and Thursday) and 3 from home.
This role reports to the Senior PR, Content and Communications Manager and is responsible for creating, improving and maintaining a wide variety of multi-channel content to help reinforce our brand and cement our position as one of the UK’s leading furniture retailers.
You will help bridge the gap between creative, informative content, and SEO. Your content will inspire, educate, and inform, but you’ll also be able to monitor and track performance to ensure your copy remains relevant and resonates with our consumer audience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Developing and implementing a blog content strategy for the brand, creating unique and insightful pieces of copy to support the overall customer journey
- Editing, subbing and proofreading copy
- Ensure copy meets SEO best practice and remains relevant as well as engaging
- Create and upload all approved content via WordPress ensuring all images used and content are on brand
- Work with PR, social, eCommerce, design and product team functional specialists as required to ensure delivery of key messages as required by the business
- Work closely with the SEO Manager to write category copy according to briefs
- Provide support in managing the Press Office function and responding to media requests for content and imagery
- Able to create a wide variety of content types and styles, short and long-form copy, including for web and email
Skills and Experience
- Experience and understanding of all aspects of content creation; from planning and research to writing, editing, publishing, optimising and reviewing
- You’ll have experience of working in a similar role previously (client or agency side, or a journalism or media background
- Familiar with a variety of CMS, ideally WordPress
- Understanding of the overall marketing mix and the role content has to play within it across multiple channels
- Previous content analytics, metrics, and reporting
- A passion for interiors and knowledge of the home interest market would be desirable
- Understanding of SEO principles
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
