Description

Reporting into the Head of Quality, Compliance and ESG, we are seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Compliance and Standards Specialist to oversee compliance with relevant legislation, regulations and industry standards, whilst working closely with our suppliers to deliver furniture that combines quality, style and lasting value that our customers can trust.

You’ll be based in our Swindon head office and we can offer hybrid working with 2 days in the office and 3 from home.

Key responsibilities:

  • Coordinating compliance with all relevant legislation and regulation including, but not limited to, product safety and performance, flammability, proscribed and restricted chemical substances, packaging and labelling.
  • Working alongside our Quality Manager to support product development, quality assurance and vendor management.
  • Regularly analysing and reporting quality and supplier data to provide key insight and drive improvements.
  • Vendor performance management and improvement, providing data and feedback to suppliers on how to enhance their performance and compliance.
  • Developing and implementing compliance policies, procedures and guidelines to ensure adherence to legal and regulatory requirements in relation to corporate, product and supplier compliance.
  • Monitoring developments in emerging policy, legislation and industry standards affecting the furniture retail sector and supply chain and updating our compliance approach accordingly.
  • Working closely with our Sustainability Coordinator to ensure supplier compliance and adherence to strict ethical supply chain standards.
  • Maintaining documentation and records related to compliance activities, including audit reports, supplier documentation, policies, and training materials.
  • Liaising with suppliers to guide understanding, and compliance with, our compliance standards.

Skills and Experience:

  • Experience in a technical, compliance and/or standards related role ideally in the furniture retail industry or supply chain.
  • A Diploma, Degree or qualification in a relevant technical subject.
  • Strong numeracy and analytical skills together with excellent written and oral communications and the ability to effectively present complex data and information.
  • A demonstrable competence in being able to handle complex and varied workloads, including the ability to prioritise tasks.
  • Solid IT literacy, including use of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
