Our IT Department at Oak Furnitureland is essential in maintaining operational efficiency, enhancing customer experiences, and driving innovation.
With recent changes to our IT team, we’re excited to offer a new position where you’ll collaborate with senior leaders to help shape and deliver the overall IT and Digital portfolio of Projects and Programmes, ensuring successful delivery of the IT enabled change projects.
In this role, you’ll be key contributor to the strategic direction of both the department and the business, driving transformation through effective change management. It will include hands on delivery of selected change initiatives and managing a team of 4-8 people.
We offer hybrid working with 2 days in our Swindon Head Office and 3 from home.
Key responsibilities:
- Drive, advise and assist the Business Units to maximise returns from new capabilities through effective change management.
- Work with business owners and technology peers to understand strategic priorities and the requirement for IT change required to deliver it; defining a roadmap of work from this understanding.
- Manage stakeholders at the highest level to ensure the appropriate level of sponsorship, engagement and decision-making on all initiatives within the portfolio/roadmap.
- Work directly with these stakeholders ensuring their technology change needs are met and that they have clear visibility of the progress
- Hands-on delivery of selected complex change initiatives
- Oversee the delivery of all Technology enabled programmes and projects
- Definition and ownership of the appropriate governance and process with an eye on different models of delivery for different opportunities and channels to market
- Responsible for ensuring the portfolio is delivered to time, budget and scope and are resourced with the appropriately skilled personnel.
- Create/Maintain a process whereby all significant change activity has the appropriate measures and targets required for evaluating success and that are reviewed and tracked post implementation.
- Work with the leadership team and to understand strategic priorities and the requirement for technology change required to deliver it. Roadmap(s) are defined from here.
Skills and experience:
- Retail background ideally
- Digital - A retail digital background will be an advantage as we work through our omnichannel strategy and opportunities.
- Project Management - Principles, methods, techniques and tools for the effective management of projects from initiation through to completion
- Programme Management - Principles, methods, techniques and tools for the effective management of a programme of projects and related activities through to the successful achievement of planned business benefits.
- Budgets - Principles, methods and techniques and tools for the preparation and monitoring of budgets to minimise costs and ensure cost-effectiveness.
- Business Proposals - Methods and techniques for preparing and presenting and challenging business cases, invitations to tender and statements of requirements both orally and in writing.
- Leadership Skills- Identifying goals and objectives and motivating and leading others towards their achievement.
- Demonstrable experience in the role of Business Change and Technology Delivery
- Exceptional leadership and influencing skills.
