Description

We are seeking a highly driven and autonomous project manager to shape and deliver our digital portfolio. Working closely with senior leaders in the OFL business, you will have a key role in defining and executing a range of digital initiatives across existing and emerging channels.

This role requires you to influence at the highest levels, ensuring that cross-functional teams, resources, and budgets are aligned with strategic goals. You will take full accountability for delivery, managing every aspect of the project lifecycle — from defining timelines to overseeing external partners.

You will be at the forefront of shaping our product roadmap, driving prioritisation decisions, and facilitating critical conversations with senior stakeholders. The ideal candidate will be proactive, results-oriented, and able to take ownership of complex digital projects, seeing them through to successful completion.

We offer hybrid working with 2 days in our Swindon Head Office and 3 from home. 

Key responsibilities:

Digital Product Delivery

  • Work with business leaders and technology leadership and peers to understand strategic priorities and the requirement for the IT change required to deliver it, and from this understanding, define a product roadmap.
  • Drive, advise and assist the business areas to maximise returns from new and existing digital capabilities.
  • Ongoing scope, goals, and delivery management in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders.
  • Build, own and report on detailed plans, schedules and budgets.

Leadership

  • Establish trusting relationships with selected 3rd parties.
  • Shape, lead and motivate cross-functional teams/squads.
  • Assign and manage tasks across the teams/squads.

Stakeholder Management

  • Act as the primary point of contact for digital initiative stakeholder(s).
  • Manage stakeholders at the highest level to ensure the appropriate level of sponsorship, engagement and decision-making on all initiatives on the roadmap.
  • Facilitate stakeholder meetings (steering) and workshops

 Ways of Working Definition and Improvements

  • Support the leadership team with the selection of any third-party support required, and in the defining of their ways of working from a delivery perspective, establishing the appropriate rituals and governance processes
  • Identify ongoing opportunities for process improvements and efficiencies in delivery.

Quality

  • Work with QA and Development, ensuring the quality and integrity of digital releases
  • Conduct regular reviews (retros) and assessments as per the agreed ways of working.

Budget Management

  • Work with the IT Leadership team and finance to develop and manage the digital delivery budget

Skills and experience:

  • Retail/Digital background is essential as it will be an accelerator in understanding the existing and future digital portfolio.
  • Knowledge of the Delivery Management principles, methods, techniques and tools for the effective management of initiatives from mobilisation through to completion.
  • Experience of managing budgets
  • Business Proposals – experience of using methods and techniques for preparing and presenting and challenging business cases, invitations to tender and statements of requirements both orally and in writing.
  • Excellent leadership skills, identifying goals and objectives and motivating and leading others towards their achievements.
  • Change Management – knowledge of the principles, methods, techniques and tools for the management of change into business operation to ensure readiness and successful transition to new ways of working.
  • Demonstrable hands-on experience in defining and implementing new ways of working in a digital delivery environment.
  • Experience of working in a multi supplier environment establishing strong partnerships for delivery.
  • A confident communicator and presenter
